A True “Let’s Get Hitched” Family Wedding!

Leila and Raymond

Saturday 8th September 2018

It was a day to remember for all of the right reasons; Raymond the eldest son of Let’s Get Hitched’s founding member and director, the truly talented Alison Kemp; married his long time love Leila.

As all families do when one of their own is getting married – the Let’s Get Hitched team came together to produce a magical day! With a whopping, record breaking 14 members of this elite band of wedding professionals involved in this incredibly, special day!

Leila and Raymond had to deal with some massive setbacks during their planning process – the most challenging of which was that their original choice of venue closed down in December last year and therefore, with only 8 months to go to the big day – they were forced to search for an alternative.

This is where the amazing, beautiful and perfectly situated Burswood on Swan came in to lend a hand. Linzi The Manager; managed to step into the breach and planned a ceremony and reception which not only met the couple’s budget but exceeded all of their expectations.

Set right on the banks of the Swan River opposite the WACA; the venue enjoys uninterrupted views of the City skyline – equally stunning day and night. With a gorgeous, grassed area outside – perfect for ceremonies and floor to ceiling windows affording the perfect views for guests and backdrop for the Bridal Party; Leila and Raymond were not only relieved but delighted that they had secured such a perfect venue.

Right from day one of the wedding planning Leila had set her heart on the fabulous Sandie Bertrand Photography . Photography is one of the most important elements of any wedding day. Your photographer is responsible for capturing all of your memories of the day. This is the one element of your day that will last forever and it’s vital that you choose the “right fit” for you.

Sandie was most definitely the correct fit for Leila and Raymond. Her style is effortless and relaxed but always with an eye for the natural and interesting; put simply – her photography is outstandingly beautiful. Add to that the fact that she’s a wonderful, fun and friendly person; someone who you’d be happy to spend your big day with!

There was never any question of who was making and decorating the cake for this special occasion. Alison is a cake maker with over 20 years experience; she is the owner, operator of Vines Cakes .

Alison has a rare talent to make delicious cakes in all flavours which are beautifully decorated to fit the vision and style of the bridal couple. Leila and Raymond chose a unique, elegant and visually stunning design reflecting their ‘story’ in silhouettes with a multi – coloured, ombre style icing. This cake was quite simply, a work of art.

In addition to running Vines Cakes; Alison also owns Swan Valley Fudge so, no surprises then that the guests were treated to some of this absolutely delicious fudge as their wedding favour! Swan Valley Fudge is truly the favour with flavour and Alison produces this authentic, sweet treat in over 10 flavours.

Alison can even create a custom flavour to suit the bridal couple and cater to their specific tastes and preferences. Add to this the fabulous labels produced by the awesome stationery expert Angela from Butterfly Days !

The ceremony is the most important element of any wedding celebration – this is the part of the day where the bonds are sealed and the legal aspects of the marriage are undertaken – in short – this is where the couple become actually married. It’s therefore crucial that the celebrant brings the right balance of solemnity, professionalism, fun and emotion to the proceedings.

The celebrant must be the perfect match for the couple and they must feel comfortable with them from the start. Leila and Raymond found that perfect match in Claire Henderson. Claire takes time to get to know the couple and creates a ceremony around that couple. It was a beautiful ceremony and there was barely a dry eye in the house!

Leila and Raymond had a very definite vision for the set up of their ceremony. The ceremony was designed to be outside on the lawned area facing the City panorama. The very wonderful Jenny from Perth Classic Events and Perth Outdoor Ceremonies had designed an elegant and classic arbour and set up to suit the couple’s theme.

However, nature had it’s own ideas and unfortunately, the sky looked rather threatening! Completely unperturbed Jenny and the staff at Burswood on Swan quickly and efficiently transferred everything inside.

The flowers, created by the incredibly talented Nicky at Sweet Floral Wedding and Event Florist were exactly what Leila had imagined. Just the right balance of colour and natural beauty; the perfectly composed bouquets, buttonholes and corsages gave a classical feel to this magical day.

The absolutely stunning bride in her unique and flawless wedding gown and her beautiful bridesmaids and party made an elegant entrance in a timeless limousine from the ever popular and wonderful Belle Classic Limousines . The bride was given away by her mother who looked as magical as her daughter.

Belle have a huge range of cars suitable for any venue, style or theme; combined with competitive rates and amazing service standards they are without doubt – Perth’s most popular wedding transport option.

Raymond and his groomsmen’s suits were also a triumph! The patient and thoughtful staff at Brittons Formal Wear took time to ensure that they understood the theme and style of the rest of the wedding and matched the men’ outfits accordingly without compromising on comfort and practicality. They made a very handsome and stylish group!

With her son looking so spectacular….. what’s a Mum to do? Alison had a very specific vision of the outfit which she wanted to wear for her first son’s wedding but everywhere she went – she couldn’t find anything that appealed to her. Step forward the marvellously talented designed/ couturier Beata from Chein Noir Dezines . Beata and Alison put their heads together and Beata came up with a design which was perfect; elegant, beautiful and flattering – Alison looked absolutely stunning.

As we all know the DJ/MC can make or break a wedding! Most people have experienced the pain of a less than professional or amateur DJ. Forgetting the names of the bride and groom, playing music which is specifically not what they had requested; not playing music which gets the guests dancing…. It’s a nightmare.

That’s why Leila and Raymond chose the always reliable and professional DJ’s at Complete DJ . They have a set-up which is second to none, excellent MC’ing abilities and they always guarantee to get the dance floor pumping all night! Creating an atmosphere which everyone will remember for a long time to come.

Then there were the finishing touches; The first was the fabulous Love letters provided by Vintage Letters who have an enormous range of “love” letters and other letter options. They add that touch of class and provide a service which is professional, friendly, reliable and affordable.

Last but by no means least were the hugely popular and flourishing finishing touch provided by Choice Wedding and Events – the Bridal thrones! They ensured that the Bridal couple felt special, prominent and important on their wedding day which is exactly as it should be.

Lets Get Hitched would like to offer their sincere thanks to Leila and Raymond for trusting so many of their suppliers to be a part of this very special day. We send them every best wish for the future.
